IXOPAY Converts its API to JSON
JSON has conquered the hearts of our developers too! Since JSON became the format of choice for transmitting messages across platforms, we decided to release a new Application Programming Interface (API). The IXOPAY Transaction API Version 3.0 is now based on a RESTful JSON web service.
JSON is a simple and modern data structure, supported by almost all of today’s popular programming languages. Companies releasing Web APIs in the last 2-3 years chose to work with JSON because of its versatility. Among its benefits are quick parsing and a more straightforward way to pinpoint errors.
The former IXOPAY Transaction API Version 2.0 was introduced 5 years ago and used XML. The API Version 2.0 is useful for merchants, financial institutions, and other clients of ours who are familiar with XML interfaces from classical banking to processing applications. For those used to more modern languages and interfaces, the API Version 2.0 is no longer optimal.
