MPE Berlin: A Recap
Europe’s No. 1 Merchant Payments Event occurred from 5-7 July 2022 in Berlin. IXOPAY’s Andrew Cullen and Adam Vissing joined more than 1,200 worldwide payments experts to learn from each other, network, and discuss the future of payments.
Over 120 leading industry speakers presented the current trends and strategies in the fast-changing payments ecosystem. The three-day program consisted of four tracks of speeches, panels, and live discussions. The main topics of the event included the latest updates in acquiring and processing, open banking, digital currencies, and cryptocurrencies, as well as security and fraud protection and general trends in the booming e-commerce space.
Furthermore, the event showcased a high level of payment expertise on the side of merchants, which significantly increased in terms of business and technical know-how during the pandemic. Their needs have led to new solutions, as the industry faces new challenges and consolidation.
Representing IXOPAY, Adam Vissing took the stage for the payment orchestration panel on Thursday. Together with other experts from Forter, GetYourGuide and Idealo, he talked about the role of payment orchestration in merchants’ payment ecosystems, its benefits and positioning vs. the offerings of Payment Service Providers (PSPs).
Providing insights into current merchant needs and best practice examples, the panel gave an in-depth look at recent market developments and the role of IXOPAY as a leading independent payment orchestration provider.
